I have two female rabbits that are around 7 months old. They have recently been showing some bad behaviours. On a few of these forms I saw that using a spray bottle may help reduce these behaviours. Today when Luna was chasing and biting bear I quickly gave her a title spray from the bottle. Ever since I did that Luna seems to be afraid of me. She runs when I reach into her pen and when I finally pick her up he lets out a little grunt. Is she mad at me for spraying her? Will I be able to get her trust back? I’m really worried.

You should not spray a rabbit with a spray bottle. They are prey animals so that is most likely why. Are they both spayed? They need to be separated immediately if they are chasing and biting each other.

Firstly if one of your buns is chasing and biting the other, they need immediate separation.

Secondly, the spray bottle trick is quite cruel in my opinion. Some do it but I don’t personally agree with it.

Yes she is most likely scared of you because you sprayed her, and yes you will be able to gain back her trust – some bunnies take longer to trust humans though, so the time depends on the individual bunny. Avoid picking her up during this time and just sit in the area doing nothing, or give her some of her favourite treats.

Chasing and biting sounds like territorial behaviour. Females are notorious for being territorial, and it sounds like both aren’t spayed yet which is why this issue occurred in the first place. You need to separate them until they are spayed and also go through a proper bonding process once they have recovered from the spay.

Agree with the others. They need to be separated if they are not spayed. Territorial aggression can result in very nasty fights.
