bunny likes my slippers too much

 I think she is a she. I have only had her for 2 months. My boyfriend and I found her when we were on a walk. We contacted animal control and put up signs, but nobody has claimed her.  Until then she is our expensive little fur ball. I was letting her run around the house a couple times a day for free play, she likes climbing the stairs. The last couple of weeks she has decided that a corner of our upstairs loft area is her potty place.  So today I bought a corral to go around her cage, I can’t have her peeing on my carpet.   I also bought her a second litter box which she slept in this afternoon.  Then today, while I was standing in her corral, she decided she loved my slippers. I thought only dogs do this type of thing. Also her behavior makes me think SHE maybe a HE.  I left my slipper in her corral and she is cuddled up to it like it is another rabbit (cute), but she also chews on my slipper (not cute).  She was an unexpected addition to my home, I cannot afford to get her a friend and my slipper is not an option. Any suggestions?  Plus, if anyone lives East of Dallas and knows of a vet that services bunnies.  I think my bunny may need to be altered.

Congrats on your bunny! Just because she is mounting your slippers, doesn’t mean that she is a he; female rabbits also mount. However, getting her fixed is something you should plan for as well; besides releasing her from sexual frustration, unspayed females have a high chance of developing cancer in the first few years. One of the mods is located in the Dallas area, I’m sure she could point you toward a good rabbit vet. Rabbits are frequently gendered wrong.
Male rabbits will hump things.
I believe that the only time females will hump is when they are trying to bond with another rabbit. For females it means they are dominat. but it sounds like you may have a male rabbit on your hands.

Have you tried checking your bunny’s genital area out?
A physical exam at a vet will help find out the gender. If it is a male, the bunny need to be neutered at 4 months. If female, 6 months. Here is a link to vets from the house rabbit society.
