I just got a 4 month old Flemish Giant from a friend who is moving out of state and couldn’t take him with her.  He is littered trained and was kept in a dog crate and no behavioral problems.  I brought him home yesterday and have his litter and food in the dog crate with an xpen attached for him to roam.  I was sitting in the xpen with him for awhile and he seemed happy.  He was running circles around me, doing binkies, and flopping down and stretching out behind me.  Then he got up did a binkie and peed all over me.  About an hour later he did the same to my daughter.  Then this morning I sat with him again and he peed on me again.  Is this a behavioral problem due to hormones, is he mad that I’m invading his new space, or is he happy and just marking me as his property?  He seems happy and not afraid or anything, but I’m afraid to sit with him since I don’t want him to pee on me again.  He’s still too young to be neutered (I think) so I hope it’s not a hormone thing.  Btw…not new to rabbits, but this is my first Flemish Giant and I’ve never had a rabbit do this to me before.  Any advice would be helpful.

It sounds very much like hormonal behavior and it’s a positive sign most likely… it means he likes you. And wants to claim you.

Definitely hormonal. Most vets will neuter as soon as his testicles have dropped. I would take him for a preliminary check and talk with the vet about neutering while you’re there.

              Aww, he loves you! 😀

You might have to put up with this for a while longer, it’s best leave them intact until they’re done growing (this applies especially to giant breeds, since they end up being so heavy). Flemmies keep growing until at least 9-12 months of age.
