My Jasper loves to climb but it is getting a little concerning. He’s a little guy, not even 3 pounds but he scales my bed, the desk, the bookcases, etc. when I let him play. He climbs on all my books, the candles on the desk, and a basket with yarn in it. Everything. He hasn’t chewed on anything and never pees or poos outside of his cage.

He jumps up on the bed (with bedframe) and continues his way around the room that way.

However, he cannot jump down. Every time he tries, he ends up splat since my floors are hardwood and are slippery. Many times I won’t let him just because of the height.

I never give him free range unless I am in the room. But constant surveillance is hard.

I have very limited space and he has very limited room to play so I don’t want to any inch away if I don’t have too.

Should I buy him something safer to climb on? Is this normal behavior?

How old is he? Wooly was a little Spider-Bun when he was young. He stopped climbing on things once he reached adulthood. Is there any way to block him from exceeding a certain height?

We’ve always swore Gina and Jenny were vegeterian cats in disguise, they climbed, and clawed like cats when we took them in! kitten trees are good, if nothing else they would provide a safe way down.
