        Hi guys, need some urgent help. My sister in laws bunny has myxi. He has been to the vets and is on antibiotics. The vet gave him a 10% chance of pulling through. Is there any way to higher that. He didn’t go to a rabbit savy vet so should I get her to take Gooey to my vet? I have critical care in the cupboard, would that help him. My sister in law said he is still eating. Anything else we can do?

          Since myxomatosis is quite serious, i would definetly go get a second oppinion from a Rabbit savvey vet.
          Myxomatosis is not something we see where i am from, but from what little i read some may misdiagnos myxomatosis with Pasteurellosis. So I would want to definelty find out for sure. In the mean time keep the rabbit away from other bunnies and use other precaustions to stop any spreading of the sickness.

          Hopefully the bunnies feeling ebtter soon. If he’s eating thats a good sign.

            I would definitely seek a 2nd opinion. How did this vet make that determination?

              Ditto, definately seek out rabbit savvy vet asap. They would likely be up to date with current treatments if any. {{{Gooey}}}

                Andi, there’s been Myxo running rampant here in Oregon and in washington, wouldn’t be surpirsed if it hopped the border… no pun intended. So keep an eye out!

                    Just to let you know Gooey died at the weekend. Thank you for the advice, my sister in law really apreciated it. Thankfully, the other bun Scruffy seems ok at the moment. She’s got the injection of it now as well! I think it’s awful that Myxi is a man-made diesese!

                      Oh, I’m so sorry about Gooey. My condolences to your sister in law. It’s good that she’s had you to help her through this.

                      Hugs to you both, and one for Scruffy.

                          To me, another reason to not let your rabbits outdoors.
