Hi all, my little boy coffee is 4 months old, not neutered yet. I think I am having a good relationship with him. He is relaxed when I am around, and will let me touch him, pet him. He will lick my pants to show affection (I guess).

I usually give him treats when I let him out.  At first I just give him a piece of romaine lettuce since he was too young. And I trained him to jump on my lap when he want his leafy treats. It worked out! He would jump on my lap when I sit down and pat my lap. But recently, I found another cookie treats for him. It’s oxbow heart shaped baked treats.  It’s just every time when I give him this cookie, he would hold his cookie in his mouth and seems to start looking around for a safety spot. It’s so funny when he’s doing that. Just like a dog, look everywhere, run here and there, and finally find a tiny corner where he can spend his private time with his treats.  I just curious why is he doing that? Does that mean he likes this treat very much? or he doesn’t trust me enough? ( I just raised hime for 2 month).

A good number of rabbits do something like this, for generally the same reason. They really like the item, so they want a little bit of distance so it can’t be taken away from them.

For Wick, he’ll also take his treat to a nearby rug if he gets it on the hardwood because he doesn’t want it to slide around while he’s eating it.

Lol. It’s just so funny when he does that. Seems like a thrilled child. Thanks for answering!

A previous bun of mine used to do that too. We would give her a cup of fresh vegetables with a small piece of carrot at the bottom. She would dig for the carrot first and then run super far away to munch on it lol!

Some bunnies think the treat is so yummy they must take it away to eat in case someone wants to steal it lol. My boy runs away with apple twigs, and both my boy and my girl run away with their fibafirst sticks.

Your bun must really like the cookies!

Panda and Fernando do this all the time when they get a treat. They’ll always take it from my hand and scamper away to a quiet corner or into a hidey box to nom on it.
