During the summer I take my bunny out for walks. He is always leashed and under the super vision of myself and the dog who is very careful around the bunny. But sometimes if there are a couple of fallen leaves,  or a weed growing from the ground, he’ll go right for it. Hes not like a dog so i cant just yank him back with his bunny leash. I have to run over and steal the leaf. He seems uninterested in grass though.

He usually gets a bite from the leaf before i take it away. He is only biting the maple leaves and other seemingly harmless leaves. Is there a specific plant that i should definately clear out before the bunny gets his romp out side. I hadnt really thought he could get hurt untill now. I figure wild rabbits must do it alot. But still i dont want lenny getting himself hurt.

        what do i look for

there are a number of toxic plants to rabbits – but it sounds like you’re talking about trees.

the below are toxic to bunnies:

Cherry tree (bark, twig, leaves, pits)
          Chinaberry tree
          Madagascar Dragon Tree
          Manchineel Tree
          flowering maple

here’s a big list of toxic things for bunnies: http://www.mnhouserabbit.org/care/toxic.html
