I have a bunny brush already, but it kinda sucks….  because whenever I brush my bun, it brushes out very, very, very little hair [even when you can tell that she needs to be brushed], so it always takes forever to brush her. Anyone have any good suggestions???

I have a little tiny slicker brush for heavy duty brushing. Then I have a little comb (I originally bought it for traveling) that I found works better than any other animal comb that I’ve bought.

I had a slicker brush with the plastic tips on the end and it pulled out absolutely zero hair. I bought a second one without the plastic tips and it works far better. I use this new slicker brush as my primary brush. I also have a furminator which I use occasionally during sheds. It does have the reputation of pulling out too much hair, so I don’t use it for very long and don’t use it more than a few times a week. But it does get that hair out!

                http://www.hairbuster.com/combs.html

I ordered a hair buster comb after reading about it from a member here. It works well. I also have a little cat brush for more gentle brushings.

I understand that furminators do a good job, but must be handled very carefully as they can easily be overused and take too much off.

If your bunny is shedding, rather than just getting a nice brushing, you can also try a fur glove that is kind of rubber with bumps on it that you pet your bunny with, or just dampen your own hands and rub her down. The loose fur will stick to your hands.

I have a furminator & I use it on their backs & sides.
I use a long toothed flea comb that I got at the dollar store for the tufts on their butts & feet. It works really well for the loose chunks.

Furminator is great-but I find ‘plucking’ is the only way to go in a molt

At the risk of sounding really dumb… do Rex buns need regular grooming? It just seems like since their fur is so dense, it wouldn’t need as much. Of course.. Bella and I are still learning our way around each other, so I could be totally lost.

I don’t comb my rabbit because comb won’t help to remove fur. All I do is to pick him up and walk to bathroom. I plucking thousand of fur off and using my hand to comb him (same concept to comb bunnies). It helped me a lot to remove fur in less than 15 minutes or sooner.

I’ll have to do that everyday because Romeo is in “Shedding cycle” right now
I hope next week, he will stop shedding.

I use the hairbuster too. That’s my favorite! I discovered them at the rabbit rescue – they use them alot on all types of fur and it really works well.

Aminah Undone, I have found that with my mini rex boy, a damp washcloth or towel works best. During a molt though, plucking was the best, then running a damp cloth over him to get the little fine stray hairs.
