I’m back with another question! This time it’s just out of curiosity because I don’t know how normal it is.

I give my bun a little bit of fruit or veggie with his medicine, and whenever it’s fruit-based, his whole body vibrates as he’s eating it. Happens with apples, banana, oranges… but not with greens or pellets. Is it because they’re more tart? Or more watery? Or sweet?

He doesn’t seem to be in any pain, he actually looks for more after he’s finished. I don’t give him a lot of course, but it just weirded me out that his body would twitch with every chew whenever he eats fruit. It only happens with fruit.

Does anyone have any experience or insight on this?

        Thank you!!

Some rabbits have butt and tail twitches when eating a very exciting food, so it sounds normal.

Haha mine do this too! I’ve never seen it before before I got my two current buns (I had other buns before), so not all buns do it. Mine do it when they’re eating something very tasty (greens or fruit) so it can’t be a bad thing. I can tell how much they like the food by the twitch intensity, it can go from a few twitches every now and then to full on non stop butt twitching. :’)

I was also wondering why my bunnies do that but now I know!

OMG I love reading all your replies! Thank you!

I’m glad its something good, and not something abnormal!

Now instead of being weirded out it’ll be an “awww” moment for me.

Thank you everyone for your replies!!

Now imagine your bun perched on your lap, trying to eat orange straight out of your mouth, rear half of him twitching with anticipation. It can be quite intimidating

I’ve seen my bunnies back twitch when eating something tasty but never a full booty shake. That is hilarious!

My gal wags her tail full on helicopter tail spin! Never knew a bunny could wag that little bunny butt before seeing her do it but it’s adorable!
