Bunny angry at me after cleaning tray

So I clean Tei’s tray every Sunday around 8-12 but every time I do she seems to be angry at me for the rest of the week till Sunday which of course is the day that I have to clean it out so it’s like a never ending cycle and I do spend a lot of time with her what should I do!

Like I said in your previous post, odds are it’s hormonal. Females are pretty territorial about their space, especially when they’re not spayed yet. The best thing to do is clean it when she’s not in it. Sounds mean, but put her in the bathtub for 10 minutes while you clean.

Ah sorry if I posted this again I forgot but thank you and I would but trying to pick her up leads to her trying to get out and if I say let her down away from the tray she’ll hop back in immediately so I don’t really know how to get to a bathtub with her

It doesn’t have to be a bathtub. A bathtub is just a convenient place because the rabbit can’t escape easily. If you have a carrier you can put her in that. The point is that you should try and clean her tray when she’s not there. She should preferably be someplace where she can’t even see you clean the tray. She is possesive of her tray, girl rabbits often are. In the wild, it’s the females that do all the heavy digging to make the warren, so it’s only natural for them to want to defend their home against intruders. Domesticated rabbits dont have warrens, but the instinct still remains.

Many rabbits are possesive of their homes, but it doesn’t mean they don’t like their hoomin.

I lead my boys to their litter boxes with a treat and pick them up in there and transport. Saves everyone a lot of hassle

I think the issue I have is when I pick her up and she struggles I start to feel really bad and put her down instantly cause it feels like I’m doing something horrible

That’s why I highly suggest cleaning while she’s in her litter pan. Take the pan to the bathroom or wherever and wait for her to get off, then go clean her stuff.

Please don’t judge me for this but Tei doesn’t have a litter pan yet cause at the time I messed up when I was getting all the stuff for her so what should I do then?

A low level box for her to climb in, her carrier, literally anything she’ll hop into and you can move her in.
