Bunny always seems bored?

My bun has never shown an interest in toys or chewing anything, and doesn’t binky or run around much. She’s the only rabbit I’ve had that hasn’t liked to play at all. Most of the time she’ll just be lying around, normally right next to the hay rack and that’s where she stays for the entire day. Her friend is the opposite, I can’t get her to stop chewing, and she binkies and plays with toys so it looks like she’s happy.

She’s definitely healthy, I just get worried because I don’t want her to be bored or moping around. Do some rabbits just enjoy not doing anything? Is there something else to keep her entertained?

Bombur is very much like this. He’s not a big fan of toys and isn’t the most active bunny. He’s pretty docile and prefers just chillin in his litter box to munch on hay or being up on the bed with us just lounging. He has a grass mat that he’ll chew on occasionally, but as a rule he doesn’t touch the toys in his cage. Asriel on the other hand, is obsessed with apple stick and will carry them around in his mouth. He’ll jump on or over anything, and just in general he’s more active. It’s very rare you see him lying around.

Some buns are like this. My Bam really enjoyed apple sticks (plus all other food in the whole universe), but he didn’t play with toys and he didn’t binky around much. He liked lounging. He was a truly accomplished lounger.

My previous bun was like that. Mostly just wanted to lounge under the coffee table, never really explored much. She seemed very relaxed and content with not really doing anything.

As a different perspective, I encoursge you to consider what sort of activity level you are showing that can rub off on the rabbit. I had concern that Wick was depressed with boredom because he didn’t have a rabbit friend, so I started crawling around with him, cuddling with him, and generally engaging him in food challenges more often and for longer periods of time. I found his activity level naturally raised, as well as his environmental curiousity

I had a very lazy bunny but he was energetic at night when I sleep. She could be more active at night and tired during the day.

Fernando is an energetic, playful bun but his mother Panda is very much a sedate, placid type who loves best to loaf in one of the hidey boxes.
