Bunnies really do growl!

I have heard they do, but never experienced an irate bun growling at me.  Or boxing me for that matter.

Shadow has run of one room closed off with a baby gate when we are unable to keep an eye on him.  He gets mad when I beat him to the gate and block him from leaving the room, so my ankles get a beating.  Today he actually growled at me!

I could not believe my ears, so I put my hand down to block him and he did it again and boxed me.  Having made his point he went back to his box of hay to liberate papaya tablets.  Lucky for us he is not one to hold a grudge!

Haha, the bunny growl! I always think its so funny to hear a bunny growl, all I can think is “Do you really think you are that intimidating?” – My little Nilla Bean growls from time to time, and her being 1.1 lbs, its so funny because I really think that SHE thinks that she is scaring me

We learned that bunnies growl, Every time my boyfriend gose near Scamper’s litter box, when Scamper is near by ,he growls and wants to bunny box with him. Kind of funny because I never have that issue with Scamper.

Kokanee does this after a bath, she is really mad! But it doesn’t really sound like growling so I am not sure that’s what you are talking about?

K and K, I have dial up so accessing you tube is a long and tedious process that does not always work on my computer. So I cannot compare sounds, but Shadow’s growl actually sounded like “grrrrrrrrr” It is not a loud grrrrrrr but you can definitely make it out. The only other sounds you hear out of him is the occasional “whoot whoot” when he is into his food or tooth purrs.

Yeh, I was really confused because I had heard that bunnies growl and I *swear* when I was at a friends house a few years ago, she had a rabbit that would growl and charge…But when I looked up growling bunny on you tube (I’ve priobably seen all the youtube animal movies *sigh* hehe) the bunny growl was that angry static clicking noise they make sometimes (like, Kokanee will make it after a bath for a couple of hours, or if my boyfriend pretends to dig when she is digging)…It doesn’t sound like growling at all, but is definitely an angry noise!

When I was fostering a possible companion for Pepper (it didn’t work out) she would growl and charge the fence at him.  It sounded EXACTLY like a small dog’s "grrrrr" growl. 

It was HILARIOUS!  Who’s the fierce little bunbun?

What other creature can be so bad yet bring so much joy. I can only imagine what will happen when I look for a consort for his highness.

Yeh! It’s really funny to watch…He’s more like their sibling then their dad hehe..Maybe I will see if I can get a vid of them fighting over ‘digging rights’…he doesn’t even have to dig where/when she digs…he can just dig and she will run up and get really mad!
