  I have received this alert from my Yahoo Group:
  
  Dear friends,
  
  These bunnies were rescued from a neglect situation by our animal control
  officer. He even cited them which is not very common for them to do. They
  were meat rabbits living loose in the backyard. The owner was observed
  picking them up by the ears so I suspect they have never had a day of
  kindness in their lives. Even if we can not get rescue, their last days
  will be their best and they will not be tortured any more. There are 3
  black adult females, a brown male, and a 3-4week old baby. Based on
  injuries on one we had to euthanize last week, I suspect predators
  controlled the population at this house. Overall they are healthy, and
  even use their litterboxes, but the adults are not very social. They need
  rescue by Monday at 5pm. If getting rescued, I think we should be able to
  get the adults spayed/neutered.

  Thanks for making me cry buckets! That music is what did me in. Where are the rabbits? I’m so sad for them. This is the right place to come. I hope someone can help. They are absolutely adorable. It just breaks my heart AGAIN that people are so dang cruel to animals. It’s so unfair. Please keep us updated.

  Are they in Watsonville? I know we have some rescues down that way. Hopefully they can help! Have you contacted any rabbit rescue? Osprey – do you know?????

  OK I just heard back from Lara and she said that they are all getting spayed/neutered today and will be rescued into Animal Place Farm Sanctuary because they are not fond of people. The baby was rescued by Rabbit Haven. Yeah!!!!

  As Lara told you, rescue has already been arranged for these bunnies. The baby is going to one of The Rabbit Haven’s baby foster sites, and the three adults were rescued by Harvest Home and transferred to Animal Place for sanctuary care. The Rabbit Haven is (I think) paying for the spay/neuter at the shelter first, and then they will be transferred to sanctuary care.

  This is the baby that was rescued by The Rabbit Haven as part of this confiscation. In the video she is the tiny one you see lying in her litterbox. Her name is Remy.
