Our two little buns are beginning to chew their plastic litter box in their cage. There are wooden chews and toilet paper rolls in there for them to chew on, so why are they chewing their plastic litter box? They get enough hay all through the day as well. Should we be concerned? And how do we stop this from happening?

        Thanks so much!

Is the have available for them to chew while they are in the litter box? If not, add hay to the litter box or in a hay rack next to eat so that they can sit in the box and eat hay at the same time.

If you already have hay in the box, they’re just being naughty It’s possible they don’t like the location of the litter box, I know that sounds weird but rabbits can be picky.

Peanut has chewed his and Buttercup’s litter boxes. He has a special thing for plastic.

You could try changing the location but you might just have silly bunnies who enjoy plastic lol.

Yeah they have hay right next to the litter box for that reason Haha Snickers likes to move the litter box so maybe I’ll try moving it to a different spot and see what happens after that. Thank you guys!
