A lady I know does photography and is doing easter portraits so she wanted chicks and rabbits to pose with the kids. She got the chicks temporarily from a friend, and asked if she could borrow my rabbits for the day to also pose with the kids (not at the same time as the chicks, obviously). She doesn’t actually let the kids hold them, she just puts the rabbit next to them, and takes the pictures. Nova and Hubble like just sitting around and getting pet anyways, and she doesn’t have to worry about what to do with the rabbits when all is said and done so it’s a win-win! She is also going to take a few photos of just Nova and Hubble for me as thanks for letting her borrow them so it’s even better! I know that there are some risks, but I think that Hubble and Nova will do just fine. And yes, I am aware that it will probably cause some kids to beg for rabbits for Easter. If I had thought of it earlier I would have dropped off some “Make Mine Chocolate” posters. Oh well.

Well, the good thing at least is that your buns are not babies. If they were babies, I think the parents might be more apt to say, “Sure, they’re very little, how much work can they be? Let’s get one!”

It would be funny (and very cute) if they left little presents around the photo shoot too. ;o)

Well apparently Nova was quite a brat about the whole thing so that would probably help as well. Haha. She is currently in full snub mode and only will look at me if I get on my elbows and beg. On the other hand I think it did Hubble only good since he is acting much more affectionate to me. My two are very tiny though, weighing in at no more than 3 pounds each, so not true rabbit size, especially for most mixed breeds sold in pet stores. Oh, I’m sure that Hubble did leave little presents, and maybe his own version of a mini lake too! I will be taking half of what I got from lending them and donating it to a local rescue, so at least it has done a little good.

Strangers can have that effect on rabbits.  The only time Maryann would hop up onto the sofa with me AND give me kisses was during her speed dating sessions where she was always travelling and meeting new people.  I think it was her way of saying, “Hey!  I don’t want to to anywhere or meet anyone.  I’m happy with you.”  Of course, once Dono arrived, all of that stopped immediately.
