So, I made this multi-level condo for Darwin:

        http://breyfamily.net/bunnycage.html

BUT, he never uses the upper levels.

Is it due to a lack of a ramp?  Could I just use a wooden box as a step?  Or could it just be a sign that he is not a vertically-inclined bunny?  ;o)

As much as I would love to give him more horizontal space, there is just no room in my apartment.

        Any thoughts????

I made that exact same condo.

I found my rabbit is scared of heights, so I adjusted the dowel rod levels and watched to see if she’s okay with it.
          It mayybe just bunny preference.

Oh, I have a grass mat hut that is on the second level. She jumps on it to get to the 3rd floor

So I lowered both shelves significantly this afternoon and I even put his favorite cardboard box on the top shelf.

He hasn’t gone up there yet, but time will tell! Thanks for the suggestion!

I don’t like that the two shelves don’t overlap. I would extend the first level further out so the two shelves overlap by about 6 inches. Too much open space.

I built a somewhat similar one for the bunny we just adopted, and put ramps in it. Our bunny has been nervous about going up and down even with the ramps. I doubt he would ever go for levels with out ramps. The ramps weren’t hard to make.

He might not be a jumper. One of mine almost never jumps. They don’t have an NIC condo, but we did build a jungle gym type thing out of NIC grids that they can play on while they’re out. One bunny will jump up the levels and the other just sits on the ground staring up after her. Haha.

I would try lowing the levels and see if he’d be more comfortable then. That or a ramp.
