Bun ‘head’ed for a fall?

So at four this morning, bunnies were making noise and robbing me of sleep.  I decided to turn on the light and see what was up. Besides me.

It was wicked hot in the house. Someone had anticipated snow and thought it would be good to have us roast our way through the night. (Not me, I leave my window open even at 20 degrees.) So I decided to go get freeze bottles and insert them into pens. (A very noisy undertaking that I feared would wake everyone else.)

Fiver did NOT like his. An hour after I placed his in with him, he was stomping his front feet and whining…woke me up AGAIN and I had to take it out. Then he was happy. I guess one doesn’t have to worry that a rex will overheat much, their fur is so thin.

Pip could not possibly have gotten flatter in her pen than she was last night. She looked miserable! I don’t have a pic of that, but it looked like even her ears were melting. I put a freeze bottle in with her and she just went to the other side of the pen and glared at me. No gratitude. What the heck???

Anyway, with Mimzy it was a different matter altogether. Never mind the freeze bottle Mom, just rub my nose! And how about a little midnight snack?

So here are the pix of that. Pardon the blur, I just can’t get good close ups with this stupid Nikon.

And I had a hard time getting the last one. Looks like he’s going to nose dive right down to the floor and flatten his beak. God help me if he ever loses his footing and tumbles out. I am sure he would break his neck! Not even funny!

But he won’t stay in the pen once the door is open and he knows the treat bag is near. He keeps popping back out, like a jack-in-the-box!

Oops! Mimzy’s nose rub piccy came out last. How did that happen? 0_o
Anyway, yes, I was busy snapping away in the wee hours. Glad you enjoy them!

But yes, you see allenj, how he just pours out of the door? I wanted to get a shot like you did of Boston, but it was not my lucky day. And tomorrow doesn’t look any better. lolz…

i think u did a pretty good job mimz….
i had to take like 50 pics of boston to get a good one like that….i’m surprised that rabbit isn’t blind from all the flashes she’s had to endure. i think she’s figured out if she sits still long enought it will be over faster!

lolz…Yeah that pic of the nose rub, the flash went off and he’d been so comfy before that. He gave me this look like he was seeing spots in front of his eyes and after that, extreme annoyance! I was lucky to get the other three shots at all!

But hey…he can’t pass up the possibility of “boooo-berries!” ^_^

OMG!  What adorable pictures!  OK just have to bug you here – maybe it would be a good idea to put a towel over that cage door because I worry little feet might get stuck in a mad dash.  I did that to Edson’s door. Just a suggestion!

Oh indeed, knowltons, I don’t normally let my buns go over their doors without a towel there, but Mimzy was only trying to get to the treats in the early morning, so I had no intention of letting him get any farther out than that! ^_^ No worries! I have a deathly fear of a broken bunny limb, I don’t ever want me or my bun to experience that!

He did get his little paw pinched in the door once when I wasn’t watching it carefully enough and I was trying to close it back up. I opened it again right away and he wasn’t hurt, but I bet it surprised him. You’d think he’d learn!
