So we finally got out to Bed bath and beyond and bought 4 packs of grids (wasn’t sure how much we would need) and we drove down to Sams Club and bought those “puzzle” mats for kids that someone had posted.  Well….he loves his new set up (I’ll post pics later) especially the floor!  He keeps digging at it and sometimes chewing at it.  I don’t believe he’s injested that much, I think he just likes to tear it up.    Hopefully this won’t last long or I might just put linoleum on top of it.  What do you guys usually use as the floor?

I can’t believe his pen is 1/4 of our office/sewing room!  What I do for him…

i’d put linoleum over the top. you can use the grids underneath for some padding. many rabbits will chew on this type of flooring b/c it’s soft and they can, but you’re right, it’s not good that they ingest it. since he’s discovered he CAN chew it, it’s probably not too likely to stop.

            I agree totally with that…

Linoleum is good as easy to mop up spills and hygienic. (Think Beka meant mats underneath?).  If you use lino, get a peice that extends past the grid perimeter so he can’t pick up an edge in his mouth and start on that.

I use those foamy puzzle peices too, but put coroplast over them. The rubber texture is as enticing as remote control buttons and wires!!

Thanks guys!  He usually does it when he wants out, but we’ve been telling him no and clapping our hands for him to stop.  Where would I get that coroplast?  I have extra limo. in the basement so I’ll see if I have enough to cover it.  He does love to flop on the mats….like he just did right now since they’re soft.  I’ve put a fleece blanket that covers some of it up and we have boxes and his cottage…so hopefully for now he has enough stuff to occupy him.

Any sign shop will have coroplast, and it’s SUPER cheap.. It’s just corogated plastic (hence the name..)
