Yeah we got the big snip today and it was not without drama.  They gave him pre op meds and while injecting he had a slight reaction so they had to re think how they did this.  He came out fine but took longer to wake up then the vet would have liked however we are have now been home for 3 hours and we have been a bit quiet but ok.  Decided to give him his greens as i would normally but this time added apple for the first time and well apple is GOOD.  he ate a fair bit (more then i expected) of his dinner and now trying to work out a way to get comfortable.  So I think in the end we came out alright.  Vet had a quick chat to me and wanted me to text him tonight and the next two days to let him know how he is going.

Side note, watching Anya eat her greens is the cutest thing I have EVER seen!

I’m glad Bugz is okay! Sounds like he had quite a scare too. Healing vibes to Bugz.

He was begging to be let out of his cage and when I did not as I want him to have a quiet day he got mad and pissed all over the door and his food bowls and he KNEW that I would have to opent he cage to clean everything which is what i did and now he is happy jumping around the floor!

A full bunny scream?  I’ve never heard one but it’s supposed to be awful.  No wonder you freaked. So you actually got to watch the procedure?

Maybe it’s because of those other discussions about Sugar and his op….but this worries me…again.   So when they administered the anaesthetic he screamed. Did they use gas or IV?

AV, sorry to hijack.  Glad to here Bugz has his spunk back. Better to have a cheeky mischievious bun than one that’s feeling poorly.

jersygirl that’s fine I have been thinking about that but then thought maybe it’s normal for a rabbit to scream but then again maybe not strange…

Well we are back to almost 100% normal excpet we have forgotten what a litter tray is!

Karl was a real hassle after the op. For two weeks after being fixed he was more naughty than ever – peeing on the sofa, leaving poops everywhere, chewing the wallpaper et.c. I’m not completely sure if it was the op or if it was due to an extremely heavy moulting, but now you are warned. At least, it will pass

I had a bunny die in my arms many years ago on our way to the vet – and it screamed just before it died. It was the most horrible scream ever! I’m not sure if it is due to pain or panic.

It sounds like Bugz is doing extremely well now, despite the scare with the anesthesia. (I had the same problem once myself.)

Very cheeky to pee everywhere just to get the door open. IQ of 170.

Aw, poor little guy. I have to admit, the title of the post is funny, but him screaming undergoing anesthesia does not make me chuckle. Poor baby. (((((((((((((((heal up well, Bugz!))))))))))))))))))
Makes me wonder now how my Mimzy did with this procedure when he had it done? Was Bugz just scared by all the stuff going on or was it part of the reaction to the meds?
Many years ago I needed fentanyl for pain during labor, they had given me so much I almost couldn’t even nod or shake my head in answer to questions. I always tell my docs not to use that now, because I’ve developed a bit of a reaction to it.

*ahem* Any possibility of oh-so-cute piccies of Anya eating greens? Hm? (looks for pokey stick)

I hope Monkey’s spay goes well, she cried last time we were at the vet and just about broke my heart. Don’t know what I’d do if she screamed

Mimzmum – Bugz did not scream they think he had an allergic reaction to the pre op pain meds he had a fit like thing so they flushed his system and re thought how they where going to do the op.

Bugz is 100% back to normal only real change is that he does seem to use his litter tray more, I noticed in clean uplast night the vaccum was not making any noises and went to check what was stuck but really just less pellets floating around the floor
