So I’m considering adopting again. It’s been about 6 months since Smudge passed on and while I still miss her terribly I also feel like I’m ready to fill the bunny void in my life. I’ve only started tentatively looking so far. The best rescue is about 2 hours away from me so I’ve only been doing some online viewing so far. A couple days ago I noticed they had put 2 lionhead brothers up for adoption, they are 7 months old, one is neutered already and one is not but he would have to be before leaving the shelter. There isn’t a ton of info up about them, according to the staff one is more energetic and the other more of a laid back lounger. My question is does anyone have any experiences with bringing home a bonded pair? Should I worry about that bond breaking in a new place? Is there anything I could do to make the transition easier for them? If they did for whatever reason unbond it would not be the end of the world. I have the time/space to deal with 2 buns seperately if need be, I would just perfer if they stayed together. This would be my first experience with a pair, Smudge was a single bun and I hadn’t thought of taking in a pair but these guys have really caught my heart.
Also I may get there and find an entirely different single bun or pair that fit better with my lifestyle, I’m not set on these two because I don’t want to get my hopes up and then find out they are better suited for a diffferent type of home. I’m more so just curious about bringing home bonded pairs in general? I like to be prepared
any advice or info would be greatly appreciated!!
