Hi! I’m bringing my bunny to an event. We’ll be meeting with patients with genetic diseases and she’ll be there as a sort of “Dr Rabbit” to cheer them up. She’s a very friendly rabbit who is used to human touch so I’m not too worried about her being frightened.

However, I am worried about her having accidents so I don’t really want to let her run around freely (she is currently free-roaming at home). She’s always so curious and loves to explore. For this event (2 hours), I’d also like to give her some privacy and downtime to eat and rest. Does anyone have advice on doing so/bringing bunnies to events?

Right now I plan to bring along a cardboard box that is big enough for her to lie down in. I would put hay and a pee pad in there and I would drape a towel over half the box so it’s darker. I’ll be watching her and the box the whole time and I’ll give her some snacks/pets if she tries to jump out and run around.

Sounds like a good plan. The main thing you would need for your bunny to be comfortable is a place to get some privacy. Even the friendly-est of bunnies need some privacy. Since she is very friendly, I think two hours around people should be fine, but just make sure if she’s stressed or uncomfy you give her some space.
