  Hi BBers I need some help identifying a breed yet again. Yes, my friend found yet another unwanted bunny! I don’t get why anyone would abandon such a cutie!
  
  P.S. I just gave my bunnies to my friend who’s going to bunnysit while i’m on holidays for the summer. I feel lonely!!

  Is this the friend who found that red eye white bunny in Hong Kong somewhere? Or am I totally confusing you with another member?!
  
  What colour eyes does this bun have. They appear a blue-grey. I’ve just been looking at pictures of chinchilla coloured rabbits 1/2 the night and now I spy this beauty. He might have some mini rex in the mix…

  Gorgeous!! Are you in America? Or Asia? I can’t remember. If it’s Asia I think they have fairly different breeds – I’ve seen pictures of buns with a head like that before from Asia, but I have no idea what breed is comes from. It reminds me a bit of a rex or even english lop in the shape.
  
  I definitely need more pics! Such a unique and beautiful bunny. I can’t believe someone would dump it on the streets 🙁

  jerseygirl: Yes I’m the one that had a friend with the red eyed white. this one eyes i think is a bluish-grey. i didn’t ask. i can’t believe no one wants this little one! so beautiful!

  The length of the ears, and over all size makes me wonder if he’s one of the giant breeds, but still young and just hasn’t developed a dewlap yet. Possibly english lop or flemish giant. Do you have an estimate on age?

  I see that too. Many of the Singapore HRS adoptable rabbits have similar head shape. They only put on the details as the breed being “local”. I also spotted rabbits like this ( longer, pointer heads and lean bodies) when looking over a Malaysian rabbit forum about a month ago. Or it might have been Korean… I can’t recall.
  
  I wonder what the predominate breeds are in the region.
  
  Wabble, this rabbit actually has a similar look to your Marble. Marble appears to be dutch marked but I don’t know if she’s an actual Dutch. Some of the young dutch rabbits I’ve seen here in Australia have a similar look. Again, I don’t know if they’re actual dutch breed rabbits. But I wouldn;t be surprised if many of these rabbits are a dutch/mini rex mix.

  I dont know what Im talking about… but didnt we have one come up recently… and I cant remember his name (Jack maybe?) or the owners, but it was a beautiful lean tan rabbit with long ears like that and a long face. Everyone seemed to think it was some kind of wild mix. This one, gorgeous btw like everyone has said, reminds me of him. Does anyone know what Im talking about?

  He/she’s only a couple of months i think. I would definitely bet on the rex part as a mix, but can’t put my finger on what else

  Eepster, he’s not a flemmie. Totally wrong head shape. But I agree with your conclusion on the ears – looks like he’s got some serious growing to do yet.

  In Link’s case, he grew into his ears – I would think it would be the same for other large breeds, too?

  Generally yes, but with ELs, there is no way their ears would be their full length as a baby. Plus the lean face shape looks “English Loppish”. Maybe a mix of EL and something else?

  I’m really starting to think that it could be a hare and not a rabbit? I went to see this little one today (i’m in hong kong for a trip) and he has the longest, most thinnest legs i’ve seen in a rabbit(?) and also the longest face! Could it be possible??

  Maybe! The only domestic hare I know of is the Belgian Hare which is usually a dark chocolate brown, but maybe a mix? (Wait… can hares and “regular” rabbits mix? Probably not. Nevermind. Lol…)
  
  Here’s a pic of a hare. The body shape is definitely very muscular and lean.

  Beka, Belgian Hares aren’t genetically hares – they’re just domestic rabbits bred to look like it. I don’t believe real hares can interbreed with rabbits, but it’s possible this guy is just related to a full arch breed like a Belgian Hare.

  They are gorgeous! I was reading an article about them and apparently they were all the rage in the early 1900s – people paid tons of money for them and there was a boom market that later busted. Very funny to think that people would pay hundreds of dollars for rabbits (or tulips, for that matter) as an “investment”.

  It is odd, naming animals opposite of what they are. Like Belgian Hare is a rabbit, and a Jack Rabbit is a hare. Hares and Rabbits can’t interbreed, genetics are too far off.
  
  Whatever this guy is, he is certainly stunning! I’d take him home in a heartbeat! ….which would then stop when Monkey would kill me for bringing home yet another bun… lol.

  Nope. It did look like it but the bun has “normal” brown eyes. I think we’re just going to have to settle with never knowing what this little one really is.

  that’s how nut puppet got the “nut” part of his name. my three year old says he looks like nut brown hare.
