I just got these lovelies from a lady down the road a bit from me. She told me that they were all papered standard rex rabbits when she got them but she has since lost the papers. I’m pretty new to rabbits so I’m definitely not sure if this looks like they are standard rex rabbits or not.

The rex gene is recessive, so they have to get two copies in order to have the rex fur. It looks like maybe two? of these bunnies have the rex fur and the others don’t. Sorry, the pictures are small. If they are from the same litter, then it’s likely that a standard rex was one of the parents and the other parent had “normal” fur, but carried the rex gene. Agouti is not a “traditional” color in the rex breed… but it’s possible the breeder was trying to get agouti colored rex bunnies.

ETA: I looked it up. The color is called castor (agouti with rex fur). So perhaps that is what they were trying to do? The bunny on the far left isn’t castor though. It would be called agouti because it doesn’t have the rex fur.
