In my experience, you HAVE TO get them out of their territory for grooming. I put a bath towel on our bathroom counter and groom them up there. The height will frighten them into sitting still for as long as you need.
And like Sarita said, it’s not a matter of what they LIKE (b/c it’s unlikely they’ll LIKE ANYTHING) but rather a matter of what works the best in the shortest amount of time.
Grooming isn’t enjoyable for the majority of buns, but it’s necessary… and for a rex-furred rabbit, I don’t think you’ll find anything better than the hairbuster.
Edited to add: For grooming on a table or counter, it works better if you are situated in a corner. In our bathroom, the counter has a wall on the back (obviously) and on the right hand side. So the only modes of escape are the front (where I am standing and blocking with my body) and the left side, where I use my left arm to hold bunny securely while I brush with my right hand.
