I only noticed this today when i took a video of her yawning. Her bottom two teeth look like they are rotting or stained. What could it be ? I’m really worried for her. I thought it might be her dry pellets or cecotropes but she didn’t eat either the past couple hours. They’re also mainly on the bottom teeth. It doesn’t look like its on her top teeth though ?

I want to get her to a vet as soon as possible but I just want to check if it’s normal or not since my local exotic vets moved places and the nearest one is very far

I think it’s worth checking out, because it’s coming from the root, rather than being a surface stain. Rabbit teeth constantly grow, so if the root is coming in brown, there could be some sort of infection growing. A vet assessment would be good.

On a side note… It’s awesome that you caught her yawning in a pic! I call my girl a lion when she yawns…

thanks! it’s always so hard to take pictures of yawning rabbits because its so rare for her!

i also wanted to give a little update on her. We took her to the vet who said that the brown stuff from her teeth are from stress (can be cleaned off by scratching it) which were most likely due to her reaction to the calici virus vaccine but she is not growing out anymore of the brown stuff. there is about 2mm of new teeth that does not have the staining!

Glad to know that it’s okay now! The pictures are hilarious, I always find bunny yawns so amusing – they’re such big yawns for such a small creature!

I recommend checking your bunny’s teeth regularly for any abnormalities. We can’t see the molars but at least we can check the incisors. I always do this when Kurotta is lounging and sleepy lol – he’s more tolerant to having his little mouth pried open by me when he’s sleepy.
