Haven’t been around much lately. Wanted to post a pic of Boston w/ her funny ear =) You can tell which way her head tilt was cuz her other doesn’t do that.

As of right now we are no longer giving her medicine. If all goes well for about a month we will be hopefully taking her in to get her spayed.

Cute pic – she looks like she’s asking for something! So her ear is up permanently now? I don’t know too much about head tilt – why does it affect the ears?

Awwww! *snuggles* I just love Boston! What a super-cutie! ^_^

Yah, she looks like she’s asking for a cookie or…a baby brother! xD

SO glad to hear she’s doing so well! I hope she’s of all those nasty medicines soon!

She was asking for parsley actually! =)

Her ear isn’t permanently like that only if she tips her head a little or if i manually flip it over, it will stay. I think her head is just a tiny bit tilted and thats why the one ear stays if you put it there. So head tilt doesn’t technically affect the ears. its just that her head tilts in that direction. When both ears are flopped down like usual you wouldn’t have any clue she ever had a head tilt problem. She is one lucky bun!!

Thanks for posting. I just love Boston.

It took me a minute to figure out what was “wrong” with her ear. Looked normal to me until I checked your avatar. Oh…she’s a lop…I forgot. She’s cute in every pose and I am so pleased to hear she’s off her meds. Keep posting.

I was wondering how Boston was doing!  I’m so glad she’s doing so well.  You went thru such a scare as I remember.  What a cutie pie! I love the ear up.

K&D-Every bun is different from what I understand. There is a chance we will never see another issue again and there is a chance it could all come back. (someone please correct me if I’m wrong?!)

Our vet wanted us to finish the meds he gave us for her, then wait a month to see how she does off them, then spay her. Well, we’ve had the same thing of medicine since April and it honestly seems like a neverending supply. I think the vet thought the meds would be long gone by now. And I’ve read that the medicine she’s on (oxybendrazole) can be very hard on a bunny’s organs, espcially the liver, if taken for an extended period of time. So my boyfriend and I made the executive decision to see how she does off them. Its been about a week and so far everything is great.

We did have quite a scare! My boyfriend always says Boston would’ve never made it without me, cuz deep down he had given up on her and thought she wouldn’t make it (he just never voiced that out loud), and I was CONVINCED she would be okay.

Now when she’s naughty, I find myself not getting so upset because I think of what it was like when she was sick and I just can’t be mad anymore!

Head tilt can remain in check or it can come back depending on what caused it. If she was receiving medical treatment and things actually got better, more than likely it was an inner ear infection so as long as she remains healthy, it won’t come back.
