Charcoal is so used to having people fuss over and cuddling him (especially me)… When I need to get on the computer at night, he lies down on my lap and I stroke him to sleep. It’s becoming a habit.

But lately I’ve been working on a paper this past few days and is glued to my computer most of the time and unable to give him that much attention at night. He’s just lounging (almost on his side, feet stretched) in his cage with head up and seem to be watching me, then he lowers his head, then lift it up again as if waiting for me to call him— he acts like our dog!  He has his little corner with a made up bed, but he rather stays where i can see him (oh, he sleeps on his bed during day).

I don’t know how to react to this, I feel like he’s bored or he’s feeling left out? I don’t want my bunny to feel sad…

So, how do you know if a bunny is bored?

Many bunnies just lounge all day.

A usual indication of boredom is when bunny starts destroying stuff…that’s boredom.

Agreed – a bored bunny is a destructive one. Lounging is a sign of contentment.

Sounds more like content behavior than a bored bunny.

my bunnies bite their cage destroy the hay rack and flip their food over and the bigger one starts to hop on top of the other one and scratches the bottom of the cage. THAT is a bored bunny. Even though I let them out for 4 hours a day and they have chew toys they are still bored

Coco, by hopping “on top of the other one”… does it seem as if the one is trying to mount/hump the other?

My guys dig in their litter box when they are bored or when they want something. It makes a huge mess and they know it, little stinkers. lol It totally works because it always has me jumping up to see what they want or to give some attention!

So I have a very cute 2 1/2 year old Dutch bunny. She stays in her 2 story cage until I get home from school which is about 4:00 and then put her in at 10:00 at night and do this daily but at weekends she’s out nearly all day. She doesn’t seem to do much when I let her out she just sits there and lays down. She has plenty of toys/cardboard boxes to play with but she doesn’t seem to bother. She lives in our garage but it’s not just a normal garage it’s one with a carpet, radiators and is always tidy it’s just like a mini home do you have any tips on how I get make sure she isn’t bored and because anyone says I don’t want to get another rabbit thanks.
