Bored Bun

So I need some ideas on how to get Dutchess a bit more active, she seems to be a bit bored lately. I rotated her toys, she has a hiding/digging spot with a scratching post covered by a blanket, she has a tunnel and a cube to hop/go through, the Christmas tree is still up for her to hide under, and of course there is always me to sniff. She isn’t much for wood chewy things, and although she loves crawling and rooting around under fabrics (my clothes), she tends to either bite a hole in them or try to rip up the carpet, so I discourage that behavior. Since she was sick in December and the cold weather has hit us we haven’t been to Hoppy Hour or Rabbit Agility for a couple of months. Any ideas? She hops around the house and does her little binkies and races in the morning, but then she ends up sitting in a big ball for the rest of the day and night It seems her idea of fun is to constantly move her littlerboxes around, then go potty where her litterbox WAS.  She’s also been peeing in my bathroom next to the toilet. I’m not sure why . . . anywho, suggestions/ideas would be great!!

I’m sure she is missing her agility exercises, so you might want to give her a mini-course in a room or hallway just to keep her alert and in shape, and practice for about 20 minutes daily.
Remember that bunnies are crepuscular, which means alert and ready for food and play at dawn and dusk. So it sounds like she really only needs a bit more playtime after supper.
The way to get the right toys for your bunny is to watch their preferred behavior. If they tunnel under fabric, get a willow tunnel, or a maze haven. Or even an upside down cardboard box. If she likes digging and shredding, make a diggy box out of shredded paper, again in a cardboard box (upside down with a hole for an entrance can really be fun for her) and possibly hide a treat in the center of the shredded paper so she has something to search and dig for.
A yellow pages phone book is made of soy based ink, so is very safe for bunnies to chew, tear up pages and use for shredding.
Just keep an eye on the peeing in case she can’t hold it, rather than marking. If she was sick, it may mean she’s not quite well yet.

Here are some great homemade toys that don’t cost alot http://budgetbunny.ca/category/rabbit-toys/ . I was having the same problem with sunshine and I to take a couple grids off her cage to make more room for me to walk. It gives her more space when she comes out to play. It actually seems since I did that she has come out more to play. Try using old sheets that she can dig in my bunny loves that.

Thanks for the ideas-I will be looking into some new things for Dutchess I moved a few small pieces of furniture around and covered some with blankets so she can hide and stuff, she seems to really be enjoying that!
