How to choose?
Short story one bunny from the store, and 7 babies for me ( a suprise littler) good home for four and one returned. Breed Mom mini lop and the three boys are lion lops (look like lion heads) Mom is free range and the three boys live in a 4 story condo in my living room one on each floor. The boys are getting netured on Wednesday (Mom has been spayed for 7 weeks). When Bubba was returned mom was alright with him but after a few hours he was being chased by her trying to rank his privates off. As the two boys got older they started to fight so I spearated them. Then Bubba came home.
Who lives on what floor from the bottom Bear, Zip and Bubba. Oreo can see and interact with Bear and Zip. Bear the most since she can reach him. I buit steps for her to see everyone if she wanted but took them down becasue she just made a mess with her poop. I intend on putting the steps back after they are netured. When mom is sleeping under my bed during the day/evening the gate goes up at the top of my steps and I let each one one hour for about an hour, When Bear is in and one is out he just paces back and forth Zip will go see him and Bear gets all mad and tries to bite Zip after a few mintues they are ok and licking each other head. The same with Bubba.
Oreo’s over all behavior. She is queen and she knows it.. When I built the condo and Oreo was given the bottom floor I put her little box in it. She kept on pushing it to the door. She did not want the little box in there so I took it out and put it in the corner of the living room and she was happy. If one of the boys are out playing and Oreo wants to come down stairs (she will sctrach on the gate) the baby bunny will get put back in his condo so Oreo can go down stairs. The reason why the boys are sperate from mom is they kept on humping her and it put her under to much stress she would hide and always stay crunched up she would not relax. They would scratch her back trying to make her get up. When they first started it I would knock (not hard) them off of her. Then it got to the point when they did it all I had to do was walk up to them and the male bunny would get off. I think the male bunnies think I am the head bun becasue they seem to respect me. When it is time for them to be let out all I do is open their door tap on the floor and they come to me. When a baby is out to play I close Oreo’s cages and lift her litter box so they can not go in there. At one time when I would run the sweeper in there cages I would put them on the bottom floor (Oreos floor) and close the door. Well Oreo busted me and she was not happy.
I am new to this as you can see. Who do I bond with who, will Bubba and mom ever be friends. Does anyone have any ideas on where to start. I intend on waiting for two weeks (or should I wait longer) after they are netured I would like them to be healed etc. Is there such a think as all 4 buns living in the same house. I am not sure if I want all the buns to be free range. I have a fair amount of damge in the house when they were all living here. The babies were not caged either (it was 8 weeks of total chaos) becasue mom being free range she needed access to the babies to nurse them. Oreo was nursing the boys that stayed till they were 10 weeks old. She was nursing them when she had stiches from the spay. It finally stopped when I seperated them.
