Bonding trouble

Hello everyone. This is my first time posting on this site haha. So hello all. My name is katie. I have a male and female rabbit, about 4 months apart in age. I’ve had the male longer than the female. I am having an extremely difficult time bonding these two. I’ve had Netherland dwarf rabbits before and they bonded so easily. These two are still young, Ginger, the female is 4 months and fred, the male is 8 months. Ginger is extemely passive, lays flat when he is around and stays super still. However fred, attacks her every time. He spends the time grunting and bitting her. I’ve tried putting her in his cage and letting him loose and vice versa as well as other calming techniques but nothing is working. Fred is fixed however Ginger I will wait till she is 5 months old, in which she is 4 now. Help! What else can I do to assist this process. They have been in My apartment for about 2 months together but separate cages. Help

Omg I am soo in the same boat. First time on the site too.. Need some help. Tony is 3, he’s been done, dwarf lop. Daisy is 9 months and is a French lop, so much bigger and has also been spayed. I try bonding them on neutral ground upstairs, but she attacks him every time, the first time cost me £350 I need tips badly, I’ve read lots about it and they’re in separate rooms, divided by a sofa so they can still smell each other but I want them in the same room with no fur flying! Please help us!! Xx

You should really wait until both buns are fixed before attempting any bonding. In the meantime, you can try switching their litterboxes back and forth to get them used to the scent of the other.

I agree. They both need to be done before any formal bonding sessions take place. You can get them used to each others’ scent, but I wouldn’t allow any physical interaction yet.
