first one a little back story I have one rabbit, Pascal. He is neutered & a free roam rabbit. I recently got another girl rabbit, Bambi. I took her in because a friend of mine did not get her rabbits fixed so it resulted baby bunnies. She did not want the rabbits and was going to take the bunnies to a shelter, instead I found homes for the babies & took one of the left over rabbits in.

Pascal is 10 months old & Bambi is 2 months. Will it be at all possible to bond rabbits with this kind of age difference? Im just so worried the age difference can result in very big injuries. I did think bonding the pair will be ok because they have had a couple dates together but because bambi is not spayed it could be a problem. Is it at all possible to bond a pair that one is not fixed or will it be best to wait until she is spayed? She is still too young to be fixed & I will have to wait until she is 6months minimum.

She is just so sweet & I would love to keep her so pascal has a mate so he isn’t alone. some advise will be great!

The age difference won’t matter in the long run, but it is best to get her spayed first, as she is likely to become aggressive when she gets hormonal.

At this stage, I would keep them in the same room, where they can see each other but not touch, and swap them between hutches every day. This way, they’ll be totally used to each other by the time she’s spayed and they’re ready to be introduced.

There’s no guarantee that they will definitely bond, but if you go slowly, prebond and bond properly, then they have a good chance of success.
