Has anyone had a cat and a rabbit together? I’ve had my cat (Misty) for about 4 years now, and when I brought March home I was afraid I’d never be able to have him out in the house and kept the two ceperated. However, I’ve been slowly introduced them. Misty now loves to sit near March’s cage, and when ever she comes near, he binky’s and runs around his cage before stopping and sticking his nose to hers through the bars.
Misty is a big cat, so I’ve always been worried what if I put them together and she actually tried to hurt him. But the weight against that thought is the fact that she is afraid of practically EVERYTHING. (Even mice.)
When he’s in his play pen on the floor and mist comes close, sometimes she hisses at him, and she has swatted him through the cage, but she’s declawed, and having her smack you with her paw is like having a cotton ball thrown at you.
So any ideas? Is it possible for a cat and a rabbit to bond together like a rabbit would with another?
