I have a paralyzed doe. About 5-6 months. She is very social/loving. I’ve heard it’s a good thing to have a disabled bunny a friend. I was told two females can have dominance issues but a buck will try and mate with her. I will get the buck neutered ofc but will this still be an issue. Should my bunny have a pal?

Is your female also spayed? Both rabbits need to be castrated for bonding to be successful. I agree it would be better to try with a male. Do you know how she became paralyzed? I think in this case it would be important to find a good match and talk to your vet to make sure your rabbit is well enough for bonding. You would want to take things very slowly with the bonding process as well. Is there a rescue in your area where they could help you with the match?

The vet doesn’t want to spray her with her injury, i had got her she had an injury to her spine believe from being dropped. I will ask about bonding. No im not aware of any rescues near me.

In that case unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend attempting bonding. Her hormones will trigger even a neutered male to mount her too much.

However, she could really benefit from another rabbit living next door as a neighbor, so if you have space for 2 separate buns you could look into that. You could also provide her with a stuffy to snuggle with.
