Nervous and excited all at the same time!

I am going to start this afternoon trying to bond the bunny butts. I am hoping it isn’t going to be difficult but we will see.

One good thing about being in a new house is a few of the rooms are a neutral area. But for the sake of accessibility if a fight does break out we will be starting in the bathroom in the tub.

They got along the hour Walter escaped his pen a few days ago so figured now is a good time to start

I will attempt to take pictures. Attempt being the operative word since we all know how lax I am at keeping up with my camera lol.

Then Walter will be getting his first grooming session with me since he looks like he has polka dots he is shedding so badly.

I didn’t forget to take pictures!

The session went really well. I put a little bit of pellets in the tub (because Walter was freaking out trying to get out). Didn’t catch it on camera (battery died) but Pacey groomed Walter for a bit and then Walter groomed Pacey. No humping or chasing or anything negative really. Pacey did nip Walter when they were first set into the tub when Walter freaked out and kept falling backwards onto Pacey. But once he stopped that they pretty much sat smooshed against one another or Pacey was trying to get to me lol.

Pictures in the next post they are uploading now

After I charged the battery on the camera Walter getting his toenails cut and his feet washed

Pacey coming out of the carrier

Walter is mad and won’t come out

I think they will be easy! Already grooming, sharing food and snuggling! Pacey’s little white lips are too cute! Sounds like it went well for the first real session! Thanks for the pictures too!

I had to giggle. With how fluffy Monkey is right now, she almost looks like Pacey! lol

Looking good! Hopefully your boys bond nicely

hehehe! These 2 fellas! I’m thinking you might not have much trouble with them either.

I can’t believe Pacey actually looks big next to Walter!

Lol I know in person Pacey looks huge next to Walter. But they are both so tiny!

I had the same thought when I seen the pictures of Monkey!

Both are shedding like crazy had to change my shirt afterwards it was nothing but black and brown hair after grooming them.

My whole house is hair right now the ferrets dogs and rabbits are all shedding at once it’s madness!

No pictures this time my memory card got chewed on by on of my dogs lol.

For our morning session we did the bathroom thing but Pacey decided he didn’t want to be in the bathtub and kept using Walter as a stepping stool and hopping out. So we had it in the whole bathroom it’s only about 8′ x 8′ anyway and the tub and all that take up most of it so very small.

Pacey chased Walter a little at first but no nipping or humping just chasing. When he would catch up to Walter he would stick his head under him demanding to be groomed which Walter was quick to do.

A little more chasing and a little bit of grunting from Pacey but nothing major.

I brought a litterbox and some hay with me and when I put that on the floor both hopped in the box and munched on some hay. Then they played with some toys for awhile and about an hour into it both were snoozing back to back flopped over.

Wow, I am so jealous right now! What a wonderful bond you have in the works here! Not that I know anything, but it sounds positive to me!! I can only hope my two will get to this point in the near future…I’m having some initial struggles with mine.

Your bunnies are so adorable btw I think my little Blu would fit in well with your laid back buns…lol

                                  Thanks =)

I am still being very cautious since the Marshmallow/Pacey bonding went amazing at first as well and then something snapped and now Marshmallow can see Pacey or any other bunny and she goes into immediate attack mode.

Pacey is super laid back and gets along with any bun. Walter is a little shy at first but so far he has gotten along with every bunny he has met as well.

When buns fight it is a scary scary thing lol

Ok the common area situation is going very well I still get really nervous when they are in the room together at first. But it is going great!

I bought some treats and willow wreaths from here and put a few treats in Pacey’s diy tunnel and they spent 20 minutes in there just munching at a treat and scooting the wreaths out of the tunnel then scooting them back into the tunnel to chew on lol.
