Bonding in a new apartment – good or bad idea?

I’ve looked at some of the past forum posts about bonding a third bunny and I understand that it’s very challenging. However, we found this bunny that is so irresistibly cute (isn’t that always the case). We haven’t yet introduced our existing bunnies, Tula and George, to him but we would before making any commitments. 

We also just moved into a new apartment, and our bunnies haven’t yet been given free-rein of the place (they’re in an exercise pen). On one hand, this seems like a great opportunity to introduce a third bunny, since no one has marked their territory. On the other hand, I’m worried that they may be still a little stressed from the move (although they don’t really seem that stressed). So, to pose this as a multiple choice question, is it:

(a) a great idea to take advantage of a new apartment to introduce a new bunny

(b) a terrible idea to introduce a new bunny when the existing bunnies may be stressed from moving

(c) a terrible idea to introduce a third bunny, period. Are you crazy? Trios hardly ever work. 

Oh, by the way, we do have space to house the bunnies separately, but we’d really prefer it if they all got along.

I’m no expert so I can’t say for sure but from what I’ve read before it sounds like it would be a good idea

I would try it while the apartment is still new and neutral territory. If there is a lot of aggression (possibly due to stress) take a break and try again. Try to keep a couple of rooms neutral where your two bonded buns never go so you will always have an area to work on sessions.

I would try one on one sessions first starting with the alpha bun and new bun.
