Bonding- housing

One of my rabbits recently passed away. I am going to meet a male neutered rabbit that needs a home tomorrow. my current rabbit, George is also a neutered male. I know it’s easier to bond with the opposite sex but it’s hard to find a spayed female or a vet I trust to spay a female where I live. George lives in our lanai- a 5ft x 15ft area but he has the run of the house when we’re home and often sleeps in different spots. Can I build a divider so that I can house this new bunny next to him until they are bonded or will putting him in George’s space hurt the bonding process? If it takes some time for them to bond, I would really prefer for them both to be out on the lanai instead of having to buy an x-pen. Also, since George explores the entire house, there is no truly neutral area. Would it be okay to introduce them in my living room? I read that you should try to give them more space than a bathtub and not to stress bond unless the bonding isn’t going well.

Hi! I am so sorry for your loss. I am glad you are going to get a new one tho! So I think it would be fine to put them in the same room with a divider just make sure that you clean the room/pen very well before putting your new bunny in it so that the smell is not there. Also stress bonding is fine just make sure you do research about it before you do it. There is also lots of pre bonding stuff you can do like switching there litter boxes with each other, and toys and such for them to get each others smell.
