Hello! I am new to bonding rabbits. I’ve had my male- Loki, for over a year and a half now. He’s been neutered for over a year. I recently got my female- Freya in March of this year. She was spayed last month on the 21st. They have been caged separately but next to each other since I brought her home. They are both kept in my room with me. They get to come out alone in my room daily to run around, but never together. Starting about 5 days ago, I brought home a x-pen and have been having them out once a night for about 20-25 mins depending on how it goes. They’re in a room that they have both never seen or been in before. There’s a clean litterbox, water, and a box hideout inside. It’s been relatively good. (no serious fights) But it’s gotten to the point that i’m starting to feel a little discouraged. My male spends most of the time keeping away from Freya nervously. While she, does whatever she feels, with no worries. She’s definitely more calm and relaxed. They sometimes have little “staredowns” where they just sit there frozen looking at each other. And there’s been a couple times they’ll touch noses.. but eventually Freya breaks it up with a bite. But it’s gotten to the point where she walks around and every time she sees Lokes, she goes after him…. pulls chunks of hair out and sometimes attempts to chase, which I then break up with my handy spray bottle! But heres another problem- the spray bottle barely fazes Freya. She’s SO laid back that nothing really bothers her lol. I’m just wondering if these actions by her will ever subside. Or maybe I should try something else. At this point Loki just hides and waits for her to come at him again. He truly just wants to see her and she just wants to fight. I’m just looking for any help or suggestions from owners who have done this already! thank you so much!
