Bonding behavior changed?

I have read weeks before starting to bond my 2 neutered males and we are almost through the bonding, I think. I thought we were at the cementing stage when something changed 2 nights ago and I’m not sure what to make of it and haven’t been able to find any related material whatsoever so I’m hoping you all can help.
Buddy and Baby Fatso are both about a year old, both neutered 3 plus months, after a rough start we finally got to the cementing stage, we have been in a spare bedroom for 4 days and nights now, me sleeping on the extra bed. After the first 2 days/nights I was comfortable leaving them alone for hours on end but still slept with them since they are most active at night. Buddy has always been a cuddle bun and would sleep on the bed with me for short periods throughout the night, on the 3rd night Baby Fatso decided he wanted on the bed too, there was a tiny bit of chasing that I put a stop to and hasn’t been a problem since however after a few hours of them grooming, snuggling and napping at the foot of the bed Baby Fatso mounted Buddy. Buddy didn’t object so I allowed it and after a few seconds he was done and they both got off the bed. This happened once more that night. Then last night, night 4 same thing happened. Baby Fatso hasn’t mounted or tried to show dominance at all except in the first 2 days of bonding over a month ago. Buddy loves being on the bed off and on all day and night, Baby Fatso only at night and that’s the only time he tries to mount Buddy. Does anyone know what the cause of this is and if I should wait until it is completely over before moving them to the semi neutral area? I was already planning on keeping them in the current area for at least a week before moving them to the next stage but now I’m wondering if this is some sort of a set back and I should start t the week count down after this new behavior ends.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I thought I’d give an update in case anyone else is going through this same situation….
Buddy still seems the dominate bunny while Baby Fatso is anywhere but on the bed with me. They display all the dominate/subordinate behaviors with no struggles although I have to admit it’s not always very obvious to me who is which unless I watch carefully but to my puny human understanding it is still Buddy. They are snuggling more and more but still very much like their own alone time.
The thing that puzzles me the most is that Baby Fatso is human shy, it wouldn’t be fair of me to say he was abused by his previous owners but he surely wasn’t respected as a bunny, this was displayed when I went to get him to take him home and he was brought out to me being held by the scruff of his neck (he’s at least 10 pounds). Earning Baby Fatso’s trust has been a long slow road so it puzzles me that he would even want on the bed when I’m on it, sometimes he gets on the bed even when Buddy isn’t on the bed although as soon as Buddy sees Baby Fatso is on the bed Buddy Congress racing up as fast as possible to make sure he’s not missing anything.
While they’re on the bed Baby Fatso inspects the entire bed, Buddy kinda takes a dominate position and sort of corrals Baby Fatso, peacefully guiding where he can go. After this “dance” they both settle in at the foot of the bed for some mutual grooming, it’s at this point that Baby Fatso will mount Buddy. He’s on top for a few seconds, Buddy speed it without problem, then they both hop off the bed. Last night was the 3rd night that it’s happened and I’m not sure if it means Baby Fatso is trying to assert some dominance or if it’s just a touch of spring fever.
Since I still haven’t been able to find any definite information on this at this point I’m going to play it safe and not move on to the next stage of moving them to semi neutral territory until this new behavior either stops or turns into something else. I really don’t want any major setbacks since we’ve come so far.
