Hi all,
Our lodger Barry has now moved to Bundle’s house. He was neutered 4 and a half weeks ago and has now been living side by side in a neutral room for 2 weeks with toys being swapped between pens.
We introduced Barry and Bundle over the weekend. Barry has been trying to nip Bundle fairly frequently and we have been intervening to ensure that no bunny is injured.
Bundle is approx 8 years old and has lived alone since he was found on the road outside. He is quite a timid rabbit anyway and doesn’t like being picked up but during the first few bonding sessions he has seemed petrified of Barry. He doesn’t try to run away he just sits there and lets Barry lunge at him whilst cowering in the corner.
He seems fine an hour or so after the sessions and relaxes back into his normal routine so he can’t be majorly stressed but we are worried due to his age and are wondering how things are going to progress if he is not displaying any sign of submission.
Has anyone else had any experience bonding a slightly aggressive bunny with one that is completely terrified?
Thanks in advance for your help!
