I sincerely hope you all are not sick of me! LOL

I think we are going to have to try and bond Chipper and Luna instead of Luna and Licorice.

        Here’s why…..

        1) I don’t think Luna can be free range. =( She has a lot of typical bun behaviors, digging, chewing. destroying, rearranging. I can’t fence in Licorice, nor does he need to be fenced in. He’s very good about not chewing or destroying. He just runs free – binky’s around, and then flops out to snooze.

        2) Luna’s size. She is charging/shoveling Licorice. I am worried she could actually hurt him seriously. Licorice is only 2.5 lbs she is 6.5 lbs.

So – we moved Luna and Chipper side by side – Luna seems to definitely like Chipper better than she likes Licorice. Chipper is more curious about her than he ever has been with Licorice. Waiting to be certain she has a negative stool culture before introducing them face to face.

It’s great that you may have found the situation that will work the best for all of you! I know you’ve been having a difficult time with it and were on break. I will tell you though, your documentation of what hasn’t been working has helped me tremendously with considering what will work for me here. I’m keeping an eye out for your updates and wishing you luck!

Looks like you went with my suggestion in your previous thread. I think this is a good route to take and it sounds like they are more receptive to one another. Keep us updated!

LBJ10 – yes. I did. I think that the reality is we (as in us humans) do not think Licorice is aggressive – but he is clearly doing things the other two don’t like. They (Chipper and Luna) seem largely unphased by each other.

He seems to just tolerate her better, and she doesn’t get worked up about him the way she does about Licorice. We’ve moved them next to each other. Chipper always stays back from the screen when Licorice is around. Now he’s coming right up and snugging up to it with Luna on the other side. He’s spent months hiding in his little box most of the time – now he seems like he’s out a lot more.

Now – who knows how they’ll do when they meet. We are going to use the kitchen with them. Since that hall – they *might* associate with Licorice now, and he pretty much never goes in the kitchen.

Here they are – Chipper was hanging up above on his cage – she was sleeping below. Very cute!
