Bonding an elder bun trio

Hey all 🙂

Need some advice on bonding a trio. I currently have 3 buns, Caesar (8), Hazel (7) and Backers (6). Hazel and Backers are already bonded and live free range. Caesar lost his mate of 7 years this past Spring. He is doing well single, but I feel he would benefit from some other bunny companions.

They are already heading in the path to bonding. His pen is in a common area with H and B and they have side by side litter boxes. There have been no scuffles between bars and H and B often hang out beside C.

I have bonded several pairs, but never a trio. From what I have read, it’s best to introduce the single bun to the other 2 individually before putting them altogether.

If anyone has any advice or feels this may not be a good move, please let me know.

As a side note, C has vision problems as well as arthritis. I am hoping he can benefit from having other bunnies to follow around and maybe help with grooming.

I think that is a great idea. 😀 I am currently bonding my three ladies, and I do a little bonding session with each of them individually then I put them all together. It works great, for two of them were picking on poor Smokey, now they are getting along much better. It is very encouraging how they like to hang out around him too, I have a feeling it won’t be too long before you have a trio! 😉
