I am bonding my trio of bunnies Fluff, Snow and Buddy. Buddy and snow do good together when they are alone and Fluff and Buddy do together when they are alone. When all three are put in the same play area, Fluff and Buddy interact but Snow is left out. They are all males that have been neutered from the behavior I have noticed that Fluff and Buddy are Dominant to Snow. Fluff and Buddy will once in a while mount each other but they never fight and groom each other all the time. They haven’t been fighting so I allow all three to “bond” for a few hours every day today is my 4th day and Snow seems to be left out. Is it best if only 2 are bonded together or should I still keep trying to bond the trio?

One being left out is actually a pretty good sign It means none of them are threatened by one another; they all feel safe around each other. I would either make the pen a little smaller to encourage interaction, or add a pile of hay into their pen during bonding sessions. If they still ignore him after a month of sessions like this, then I would assume they dont actively want to be a trio. But, dont give up yet. You still have hope and it seems to be going well so far!

I have found with my trio that there is often two together and one off doing their own thing. For a while it was the original bonded pair who hung out the most, but now it’s mix and match. I kept mine in a small area than I normally would for a week (with some time in a bigger space to play) to encourage them to interact and that really helped.
