Hey guys!
A few months ago I adopted a 3 yr old spayed Rex from the local humane society. I’ve been wanting to adopt a neutered male to bond with her, but the nearest rabbit rescue is a few hours away and only has bonded pairs available right now and I’d rather stick to two than try to have a trio.
I found a neutered male at another humane society nearish me, but he is 8 years old.
How likely is it that I could get an old man to accept a relatively active adult? Sparks is only penned when I’m not home and I live in a small one bedroom apartment, so separate free range times would be hard permanently, but doable if I the males cage in my room and gated that off for him. Even if I had to keep them in separate pens when I’m not home, being able to have free range time together would be nice if possible.
So is it a bad idea? I’ve been researching bonding a lot and it seems to be recommended they are similar in age and activty level, so I’m worried I’d be setting myself up for failure.
Thank you in advance!
