Hello. I’m new to the forum and new to rabbit bonding. I started two days ago to bond my loving neutered male mini lop (Buddy) with a new neutered female mini lop (Bessie). I know it’s very early days but should I be concerned that Bessie is not returning any of the affection being lavished on her by Buddy? She just lies there seemingly quite happy, enjoying the attention but Buddy gets nothing back. He gets frustrated eventually and thumps his feet and leaves her alone! I feel sorry for him! He seems to adore her and will just lie outside her cage for the company.

I’m not an expert, but it does sound promising. It’s very often like that with buns, one is the groomer and one is the gromee. The gromee is generally considered “top bun”.
A bun that dislikes another bun won’t just happily lie there. Rabbits are fierce creatures and tend to act out their dislike fur tufts flying.
