        Hello!

I have an 18mth Mini Lop Buck (Lola ??‍♀️) that we have had since he was 10 weeks old, and on Sunday collected his new sister, Clover, a 10 week old Mini Lop.

I have read so much about everyone’s experience with bonding, so was really nervous to introduce them, BUT …. it has been perfect!!!

My questions is, is this likely to continue and where to next?

It has been 3 days, & the dates have been up to 2 hours in neutral territory.

They have slept together, groomed each other & just now for the first time, eaten together. They have shared a litter tray in the neutral location.

There has not been one iota of territory or dominant behaviour!

I am sooooo proud of our boy!!

The question that I have is, I will be introducing Clover to our Lola’s courtyard when we clean the cage etc as Lola is hugely interactive, relaxed and enjoys this routine, but given Clover is still so little & unspayed, is it dangerous to leave them alone in Lola’s space? Do I still have to
wait until she is spayed before leaving them together full time?

I am so amazed at how this has gone, I am nervous about the potential backfire

        Thoughts?

It’s dangerous to have them together at all. She needs to be spayed before you bond them. She hasn’t settled in and therefore doesn’t feel comfortable establishing any type of behaviors yet, she also will be reaching puberty soon. Once she hits puberty she will become aggressive towards Lola and will want to only fight and mate with him. Both bunnies need to be kept separate at all times including playtime until 1-2 months post spay after her hormones have died down, and you have been doing prebonding. Keeping them together in any capacity, even short dates until then is playing with fire.
