Bonded Quartet!

SOOOOO I OFFICIALLY HAVE A BONDED QUARTET OF BUNNIES!!!! 

 

Sorry this picture of them sucks — they had all squashed themselves up on the third level of the bunny condo.  LOL.  It’s like the only place they all lay together.  Every other place I can only get them in sets of 2’s or 3’s.  I even tried treats and it was like they kept running up to me and then one would dart away before I could take a picture. 

 

 

 

So Simba goes for his vet visit Wednesday (provided by the rescue) to get a check-up and an okay.  Then we will be getting our official adoption papers to adopt Simba!!!  So by this weekend Simba will OFFICIALLY have his furever home!

Yay, yay, yay!!! They’re such great little bunnies. You all worked really hard, and I really think you, tanlover, have a knack for this bonding stuff. It was a lot of fun following your progress, and I am sure it’ll help a lot of people in the future who might come to Binky Bunny looking for ways to integrate multiple bunnies into a group. Also, want to say welcome home to Simba!!!  Little fella deserves all that love.

Thanks everyone! I’m so excited to have them FINALLY bonded. And it’s soooo nice to see Simba with other bunnies. He was TERRIFIED of them at first. He’s really come a long way in the few weeks we’ve had him. Although, I have to give all the credit to the bunnies! They all put up with a lot of torture and stress AND they all accepted each other. I only urged it along. We’ve also noticed as he’s gotten more comfortable with the other bunnies he has gotten more comfortable being around the house. I love it! And I’m so happy I decided to get a rescue bunny. Who really needed a family to love him.

So we moved Simbas vet visit to Saturday. But the lady who runs the rescue he came from will be at the same vet with her two bunnies — so we will be officially signing the contract to adopt our new baby boy on Saturday!! I am SOOO excited. Especially for Simber Bun. That boy will NEVER have to worry again in his life. About food, water, love, anything. It feels so good. Poor guy has lived his two years of life getting put out on the street, being terrorized by his first adopters dogs, and then almost euthanized. This boy has found his forever home. FOREVER. <3 He deserves this for sure.

Congrats! I think I’m going to attempt a introduction of Melvin to Sweets and Bunji soon. Just to see if there’s any chance there. Boyfriend told me he’s pretty attached to Melvin so it looks like we’re foster failures. I’m telling you this because you’ve inspired me to even consider it.

I promise I will post more pictures over the next couple of days — They became fully bonded in their house but were still having some… issues… when we finally let them out of the condo to play in their play area. Simba was secluding himself from all the other bunnies. But I finally eliminated myself from the equation and it worked! My boy had no choice but to play with the other bunnies. So FINALLY I can get some pictures of them playing together. I promise to post some of the snuggle brats this coming week!

Also, we adopted Simber Bun today officially!

Do you think Simba was missing you? Or expecting you to “rescue” him from the energy of the Bratscals? It really interesting to watch how they pick things up from each other. You could see him become more active (hopefully not bratty ) or see the Tans pick up some of his qualities. I guess like you saw during bonding with the Tans wanting to get in your lap more.
They’re so funny how they can vie for your attention.

I guess I’ve been reading up and/or seeing too many pics of your bunch lately, because they were in my dream last night! Bindi wanted to make friends with them.

I think he was expecting me to “rescue” him from them. He was always like that during bonding. Luckily, one I eliminated myself he just started doing his own thing with them. It makes me wonder if he had some bad experiences with animals while he was a stray that was making him so nervous around the other bunnies. He would CLING to me when I picked him up from bonding and groom the heck out of me. He would ALWAYS scootch himself as close to me as he could. Like he was soooo relieved I took him away from them.

Oh god. Are they EVER learning stuff from each other! LOL. Simba would NEVER try and get away when you snuggled him… but now if you snuggle him while he’s out running with the Tans, boy is he like NO WAY. Put me down NOW! LOL. It’s adorable. So we dont’ attempt to snuggle while he’s out playing with his buddies anymore. Only when he’s plopped around inside the house. Simba has pulled on the carpet a few times (UGH). Hopefully he won’t catch on to that tooooo much. And learns the towels are for yanking on like the Tans have done. The only one who is still bad about that is Tanger. But only when he’s REALLY mad at you. He’ll yank on the carpet like a mad man. And box his paws at you when you stop him! LOL. Simba has become WAY more active. Which I’m extremely happy about. He’s running around and right now is always the last to go back inside (unless you shake a food bag then he’s the first one waiting!). He’s really stopped being so nervous all the time. Which is making me soooo happy. Like he’s picking up on the relaxed state of the Tans all the time. He has also picked up on their bopping you with their noses until you move out of their way. He refuses to walk around us now. Even though he’s picking up some of their bratty tendencies, I’m really happy he’s finally settling in, relaxing, and getting comfortable for once in his life. OH, and the Tans keep crawling on our laps now. LOL. And on my shoulders like they want to lay on my shoulder like he does BUT without my hands holding them there! hahahaha. Too funny.

He also had his check-up yesterday! Perfect little boy, although he is a little slim near his spine it seems so he’s getting his pellets up’ed for awhile. He weighs 3.8 lbs and everything else checked out very well! Which is almost scary because I got all the papers they’ve had for him since they rescued him. When they brought him in as a stray he only weighed 3.02 lbs. Poor guy. I’m so glad he will never want for food or love again. I felt his spine though and compared it to the Tans. I can definitely see the difference. His kind of sticks farther out at top whereas they have some fat kind of covering their spine. Not really fat but like you can grab their spines. His you can.
