Last night I came into my kitchen to see our two bonded buns fighting.
Background
We got Charlie (male) from a breeder about 1 year ago. In the last two months we’ve introduced Holly (female) into our family and they bonded really well. We put them together and Holly became the dominant one and after a little dominating behavior they’ve been madly in love since. Both have been neutered and sprayed (Charlie 5 months ago and holly 3 months ago)
Now
So as I said above i came into the kitchen as i heard a lot of scratching on the floor from them running around. I came in to find that they were chasing each other and pulling a lot of hair out and both using their back legs to kick one another. I monitored it just to see if it was because Charlie was trying to become dominant over Holly. It continued and i was getting a little worried. It was 23:00 by this time and i need to go to sleep so i left them seperated for the night just to calm things down. I put them in a neutral zone to make but whenever Holly went over to Charlie he’d run off so I’ve brought them down stairs again and am watching them like a hawk.
Now they’re having the odd fight and tussle but then Holly will come back to Charlie and they groom each other and both seem to relax around each other until it all kicks off and the process is repeated.
Has anyone else had any experience with this and if so know what I can do about it? Is it just let them get on with it and it will sort it’s self out or do I need to do something else.
Sorry for the essay I wanted to give you all as much information about the situation as possible
