Well thanks for all the suggestions, but we lost him this morning. We stayed up all night with him because he was in pain. Something more must have been going on or it had gone too far, I’m not sure. He was only a year old.
I am so sorry. They can go so fast.
I am so sorry. I totally know what you are going through. I just lost a 6 week old rat named Charrlotte a day after my birthday (Oct.11). I am not sure how she died though. I was at school, but I am guessing it was respitory something. Now I feel so dumb because she was acting real sleepy and when I went to go put her in the cage because I had to go to school she wouldn’t get off my hand. She just wanted to be with me. She died the exact spot I layed her down on. I am so sorry about Bomber!
oh dear… i’m so sorry you lost him. (((hugs)))
Poor Bomber. Binky Free little guy, you left us so young.
It is so hard to lose a beloved animal friend. Take care of yourself.
I’m so, so sorry about Bomber.
I am so so sorry to hear about Bomber. You did all you could do for him to ease his pain and help him hang on till you could see the Rabbit Vet. That is the worst when even the emergency clinics can’t do much for rabbits and you can’t get to your vet. Your love and comfort did make a difference to him.
i wasn’t around at all yesterday so i missed the orginal thread. i am so sorry to hear about your little guy.
I was trying to send you a picture of our Little Man "Bomber". But the file type is wrong and I dont feel like figuring it out, so if you go to the pictures section, he is under "vogue" He is the one with the orange popsicle and I believe it’s the pic right before that is him also. We miss him so much we don’t know what to do with ourselves.
BINKYBUNNY ADDED PICTURE TO THIS POST:
He so cute! I am sorry about you losing him.
oh those pics of him are so cute… like a darker version of my baby bun. i’m sure you do miss him very much.
I’m so sorry for your loss.
I’m so sorry for your loss 🙁
It sounds like Bomber went into stasis due to the pain, and without force feeding they can go pretty quickly.
Abscesses are pretty nasty things, I’ve had a lot of experience with them and know how stressful the whole thing can be. Jaw abscesses can be successfully treated but it’s usually a poor prognosis as in most cases there is an underlying cause. You did your best for him and that’s all any one can do. At least his suffering was short lived and he is in a good place now.
I hope in time you can feel better and maybe open your heart to another bunny in memory of Bomber.
I am sooo sorry.
((((((((((((Bommer)))))))))))))
Rest peacefully little one.
I’m so sorry too. It’ so tough to not know why. Hang in there.
Sending you lots of love during such a difficult time, I’m so sorry for your loss.
I’m so sorry! I know what you’re going through. I have also lost a bunny that was young and it also happened very fast.
I also have experience with jaw abscesses. Jaw abscesses in particular can be hard to deal with. Rucy has had three surgeries. One before I adopted her. Her tooth roots seem to get infected. She is missing several molars and a bottom incisor. It seems to come back every couple of years.
And her last visit showed something was going on again. She was prescribed Baytril, and though that hasn’t helped much in the past, she seems to be doing okay. Hers are very slow growing though, but I know abscesses can be extremely aggressive and fast growing as well.
So, again, I’m sorry for your loss. I know it’s amazing how much these little puffy tailed creatures affect us. I’m sure Bomber had a good life with you, and so focus on all the wonderful things that you brought to each other.
I am so sorry to hear about Bomber, but you did take the best care of him that you could in that situation. Getting him to the vet so quickly was the right thing to do, and the fact that you noticed so quickly that he had a problem shows that you were paying close attention to your bunny. I know how hard it is to lose a companion so young, I hope that all your memories of you and Bomber can give you some smiles today. *hugs* from me and my buns. I lost a young bunny as well last year, and I’m sure that up in Bunny Heaven she and Bomber are having good times together.
Thank you all so much for your support in our difficult time. It has been so hard, way harder than I ever could have imagined. I cherish every moment we had together. We just long to hold him and kiss him again. Also thank you binkybunny for adding in that picture for me. I cry everytime I get on here and read a new reply to this post. Sophie our kitten is lost as well, she knows he is not here, and it breaks my heart everytime she goes to the spot where we kept his cage and looks for him.
You are all great support. Thank you.
When I think of Bomber I picture him jumping through a garden with all of the greens and carrots that he wants, because mommy only let him have about an 1/8 of the carrot that he really wanted per day!! and I hope that they are growing sunflower seeds for him too because that was his favorite treat from daddy….
I am soo sorry for you loss brooklewis *hugs*
Binky Free Bomber
I have to say that Bomber is quite the cutie and it is always difficult when the black rabbit calls our friends home over the rainbow bridge. They touch each of us in their own unique ways and we are better people for them – no matter how short their stay is.
There is nothing to say that will ease the pain, but do realize that Bomber will be with you always. I am sorry for your loss.
Mark
Oh no, poor guy (I just caught up to this post). I am so very sorry for your loss, it can happen so quickly.
I’m so sorry for your loss. My thoughts are with you during this time.
Anytime I read lost pets posts, I think of all the pets I have lost over the years and give extra hugs & pets to my beasts. I think its especially hard when its a young pet…unfortunately you don’t have the opportunity to spend a "lifetime" w/ them.
I believe that the reason animals have much shorter life spans than humans is so we can share our hearts with many more animals. Rest in Peace Baby Bomber.
I just read all of your posts from this week and I’m so sad to hear about Bomber! I hope you’re doing OK!
I am so sorry about Bomber. He is in a better place and he is going to be with you always! Hugs to you. He is a darker version of my bun and it brought a tear to my eye to read your posts. Im sure he had the time of his life with you. I send you Hugs again.
