Today i found a few drips and splattered blood around some areas of my rabbit’s house. She is a lionhead rabbit so it’s hard for me to see if she has any cuts. She doesn’t like to be held so i couldn’t really see her paws that well but as far as i could tell they look fine. The only thing that i can think of is she might’ve coughed blood. I don’t think its urine because it looks different than urine and its very red. I will try to add pictures. Thank you. I really hope she is ok.

She’s a lovely looking bunny.  She doesn’t look too impressed at having her picture taken.

It does rather look like blood, though urine can appear very red at times.
To me, it looks like a splatter like you’d get if shaking a bloody paw or sneezing out blood.

Will she tolerate being held in a towel so you can look her over thoroughly?

**Just a note; I added the images in for you. All your files uploaded as attachments. Once you’ve done that, just click on the “Insert Image” icon next to the file name and the photos will appear in the body of your post.

Have you checked to see if there is a toenail somewhere in her area? Rabbits can sometimes get a nail caught on something and it gets pulled out. Maybe you could search or feel around the area. If you find a nail, at least you will know the source of the blood.

From what I can see (Being Visually Impaired) is that the blood is in a straight line, a bit like if you were to throw a cup of water across the floor, so if your bunny is like mine and does not like to be held you can check the nails easily, I notice you have a play pen for bunny, so if you go up to the bars and get bunny to come over and offer a nice tasty treat somewhere at the top of the pen so you can look underneath, if the nails are fine then bunny may have sneezed like jersygirl said, if this is the case bunny should see a vet, vets know how to pick up bunnies that don’t like to be handled, it could be and I hope something minor and can be treated with antibiotics, don’t read rubbish on the internet for pet or human heath, we do panic when something happens because we always think it is serious and most of the time it isn’t, a doctor sent me to see a specialist about my knee because I had symptoms of Cancer, all it is is I have Arthritis, all minor ailments and conditions have some of the same symptoms as cancer, but if its not bunnies toenail get her checked, if it is her nose, a bunny cannot breathe through their mouth, so it will be worth getting checked over, our children (Bunnies) cannot tell us if something hurts or bothers them, it might be nothing and then the vet can advise you what to do if it happens again.

Thank you all so much! I will definitely double check and take her to the vet. I appreciate your suggestions.
