Blanket, towels, bedding

I was thinking of investing in some fleece blankets or towels for Blossom and Thumper to try and save on newspapers, puppy pee pads and bedding but I’m worried that they might get sick from urine soaking on the blankets and/or towels while I sleep plus my dad said we’d probably have to spend more money for new ones since the blankets/towels would probably have to be thrown away even though I said I think it’d still be ok to wash them. But I still think a blanket/towels would be a much better idea but I don’t know. They’re not fixed yet, we’re trying to get a hold of a rabbit-savvy vet to get an estimate but it’s been… tricky with everything going on. Should we stick to the newspapers, puppy pee pads and bedding or would it be ok to get blankets/towels?

Peepee pads cost a lot, fleece is cheap( can buy at Joann’s) and washable( my buns pee all the time on it even though they are litter trained). Where are they living and where would the towels be placed on? Are they in a cage and thats where they would go? You could also do a paper bedding that is very absorbent in the floor. Have you tried to see if they will go in the litter box? I know they aren’t trained but some can still learn.

I used baby diaper changing liners. They don’t leak through. I have a 6 and cycle them out as they get soiled. I keep them in a baby laundry bag and wash them all when it comes time.
